Responsible Care 7 Codes of Management Practice
ICC evaluates seven Codes of Management Practice for RC Logo eligibility, with a voluntary Security Code introduced in 2019:
- Process Safety Code:
Focuses on controlling physical facility risks through robust management systems, with community involvement to enhance process safety performance.
- Employee Health and Safety Code:
Aims to protect employee health and safety by proactively identifying and addressing workplace hazards through effective management practices.
- Pollution Prevention Code:
Targets minimization of environmental impact by reducing waste at the source, encouraging reuse/recycling, and exceeding compliance requirements.
- Emergency Response Code:
Ensures risk assessment, planning, and stakeholder training for effective response to chemical emergencies impacting communities and employees.
- Distribution Code:
Mitigates risks during transport, storage, and handling of chemicals across all modes and facilities throughout the supply chain.
- Product Safety and Stewardship Code:
Promotes responsible communication and management of chemical product risks across the lifecycle, ensuring safe use and handling.
- Security Code:
Safeguards chemicals and facilities from intentional harm by preventing unauthorized access, misuse, or diversion of hazardous materials.
