What is SPRUCE?

SPRUCE is a society formed within ICC with a prime focus on improving the chemical industries image and adding a positive light to it.

Primary Research and Secondary research has confirms that image of Indian Chemical Industry is highly negative. Presently Indian Chemical Industry is going through a very exigent phase. Few of the key challenges which we all are facing right now are-

  • Strictest of Regulatory Restrictions and laws
  • Antagonism from many NGOs and social organizations towards chemical industry. Setting up new plants and processes is becoming complicated. Chemical Industry is under constant scanner from government and other bodies
  • Attracting talent is becoming difficult for the chemical industry.

On the other hand the Chemicals industry has contributed to the society in enormous ways over the years…Chemicals are something which touch our lives in some or the other way daily. We use chemicals in our life every minute…but still the Chemical industry is synonymous with hazards, pollution, risks etc..

Industry Members along with ICC have come up together to form a Society - SPRUCE to uphold the image of the chemicals industry among all the stake holders across India. Till about 1950/60s chemical industry across the world was considered one of the best and people used to look forward to the Industry.

SPRUCE would work towards getting this magnificence back to the industry. It will focus on its positive positioning and promote the Indian Chemical Industries hard work and contribution to society. It will also educate and inform the Industry members towards their responsibility to the stake holders. It will endeavor to make Chemistry once again as the most sought after career choice…!

Main objective of SPRUCE will be establishing the idea - Chemicals are Good, Chemistry is Fun - Touching lives in more ways than you can imagine!

SPRUCE will be part of the ICC and all the members of ICC can be part of the SPRUCE.

So become a member today, SPRUCE up the Chemicals image and make a difference…
