Online Refresher Course on "CHEMICAL ENGINEERING FOR PLANT PERSONNEL" on 23 & 24 November 2020
Posted On : 27th October 2020

We are happy to inform you that under the auspices of the Technology & Energy Expert Committee, ICC is organizing Online Refresher Course on "CHEMICAL ENGINEERING FOR PLANT PERSONNEL" on 23 (Monday) and 24 (Tuesday) November 2020 from 01.30 p.m. to 05.00 p.m. (on both day).

OBJECTIVE:

Chemical/ process plant design and operation are based on well-established fundamentals and practices laid down in chemical engineering professional books, magazines and other published literature. Those who have taken formal education in chemical engineering need refresher training as theory and practice are mutually supportive. And, those personnel who are engaged in the conduct of chemical plant operations need to relate their operating experience with theory to have better work understanding and upgrade skills.

Attending refresher courses is a part of continuing education and helps update / upgrade plant knowledge and operating skills. Whereas theory and practice have their stand-alone identity, one is inadequate without the other. This is because both are complimentary, supportive and reinforcing to each other. They both are essential to achieve chemical industry objectives and solve problems, whether related to processes, equipment or materials.

PROGRAM:

Mr. O. P. Goyal, Member, Technology & Energy Expert Committee, ICC and Dr. Parag R. Gogate of Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai will deliver lectures on various subjects.
Detailed program is attached herewith. It is apparent from the Program that various key subjects such as Chemical Engineering Basics & Calculations, Fluid Flow Basics and Special Flow Situations, Chemical Reaction Engineering, Practical Process Heat Transfer and Distillation will be taught to give the participants an interactive, integrated and condensed refresher training.

Brief bio-datas of Mr. O. P. Goyal and Dr. Parag R. Gogate are attached for your reference.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

Chemical / process plant personnel including chemical engineers engaged in operation, operation-support activities such as process analysis and troubleshooting; and those personnel having qualification other than chemical engineering but are engaged in chemical plant operation will benefit from this course. Those who have lost touch with chemical engineering theory but would like to regain such knowledge/ skill can take advantage of this opportunity. Course is recommended also for senior technical, plant & operations Managers and executives.
