10-11 June 2016 - Two-Day Refresher Course on CHEMICAL ENGINEERING FOR PLANT PERSONNEL at West End Hotel Mumbai

INDIAN CHEMICAL COUNCIL, under the auspices of the Technology & Energy Expert Committee, is organizing a Two-day Refresher Course on CHEMICAL ENGINEERING FOR PLANT PERSONNEL on 10&11 June 2016.The venue of the Refresher Course is BANQUET HALL, West End Hotel, 45 New Marine Lines, Near Bombay Hospital, Mumbai - 400 020.

OBJECTIVE

Chemical/ process plant design and operation are based on well-established fundamentals and practices laid down in chemical engineering professional books, magazines and other published literature. Those who have taken formal education in chemical engineering need refresher training as theory and practice are mutually supportive. And, those personnel who are engaged in the conduct of chemical plant operations need to link and relate their operating experience with theory to have better work understanding and upgrade skills.

Attending refresher courses is a part of continuing education and helps update / upgrade plant knowledge and operating skills. Whereas theory and practice have their stand-alone identity, one is inadequate without the other. This is because both are complimentary, supportive and reinforcing to each other. They both are essential to achieve chemical industry objectives and solve problems, whether related to processes, equipment or materials.

PROGRAM

Several experts from Industry and academia will lecture on various subjects. Detailed program is attached herewith. It is apparent from the Program that various key subjects such as Material & energy balance, Fluid flow concepts, Fluid transfer equipment, Heat transfer, Reaction engineering, Distillation & extraction,  Crystallization & filtration, Process utilities and Process plant piping will be taught to give the participants an interactive, integrated and condensed refresher training.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Chemical / process plant personnel including chemical engineers engaged in operation, operation-support activities such as process analysis and troubleshooting; and those personnel having qualification other than chemical engineering but are engaged in chemical plant operation will benefit from this course. Those who have lost touch with chemical engineering theory but would like to regain such knowledge/ skill can take advantage of this opportunity. Course is recommended also for senior Managers and executives.
