2-Day Conference on INDIA CENTRIC R&D – INVENTION TO INNOVATION IN CHEMICAL INDUSTRY

Under the auspices of the Technology & Energy Expert Committee, ICC is organizing the Conference on "India Centric R&D" on 12 & 13 January 2018 at Seminar Hall, 1st Floor, K. J. Somaiya College of Science and Commerce, VidyaNagar, Vidyavihar, Mumbai - 400077. The theme of the Conference is "Invention to Innovation in Chemical Industry".  Detailed Program of the Conference is enclosed.

INTRODUCTION:

Indian chemical industry is poised to grow in coming years and by 2025, the size of the Industry would reach USD 300 Bn. Presently, India imports generic intermediates from China in Bulk and also resorts to importing technologies from Overseas. While innovation through Industry-academia collaboration has driven development of the chemical industry elsewhere, in India we have to go a long way to reap the benefits of industry-academia collaboration.  There is an urgent need to address the development needs in the industry for higher value addition, process intensification, sustainability, conservation of energy and material resources, etc.

The conference provides a platform where Industry and Academia can participate, and explore possibilities of collaboration and discuss course corrections for making such collaborations successful.

OBJECTIVE:

The basic objective of the Conference is to get an insight into the following:

  • New and existing technologies ready for licensing or transfer
  • New opportunity areas for contract / collaborative research
  • Industry Academia Collaboration - Challenges & Success Stories
  • Ecosystems (Technology Parks & Incubation Centre) to foster Collaboration
  • India centric R&D done in the Industry
  • How to successfully collaborate
  • Open innovation
